Reflexology is an ancient practice, which is now classed as a complementary therapy. Reflexologists follow detailed charts of the feet that map out the entire body. Each reflex point that I work specifically corresponds with an area or organ within the body. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that involves applying targeted pressure to these specific points on the feet helping to calm the nervous system, stimulate the body’s internal healing processes and, in turn, achieve homeostasis (balance).
What is it not? - It is not a foot massage which works by relaxing soft tissue in one area. Reflexology addresses the whole body and can be used to support the client through health concerns, but it is not an alternative to GP services. It cannot diagnose health problems but might indicate areas that need support and I can feedback at the end of the treatment.
Reflexology works holistically addressing the whole person, and supports them in whatever way they need.
It can offer:

(60 minutes)

This 60-minute reflexology treatment focuses on pressure points in the feet that correspond to different areas of the body, helping to promote calm and restore balance. This is designed to support your wellbeing and aid deep relaxation.
(60 minutes)

Everyone is unique and therefore respond to reflexology differently. Regular weekly or fortnightly appointments are often advised to begin with, but I can suggest the number after the initial consultation and first session.
Reflexology sessions last for 60 minutes and cost £45 per treatment – Treatment room and Mobile availability
Mian Dui sessions last for 60 minutes and cost £55 per treatment – Treatment room only
Reflexology combo (feet and Mian Dui) lasts for 90 minutes in total and costs £70 – Treatment room only
Note that if it is your very first session than we will need some extra time to go through the consultation form and discuss what you are hoping to achieve from the treatment (no extra charge)
To cancel I require 48 hours notice or you will still need to pay for any sessions missed.
I accept cash or card payment.
Reflexology is practiced on the feet or the hands and doesn’t involve anything other than taking your socks off and rolling up your trouser legs.
In my treatment room clients lie on their backs on the massage bed and are offered a blanket to keep them warm. I use a hygiene spray and heated mitts for the warm up and perform at least 50 minutes of reflexology working one foot at a time. There is an optional lower leg massage at the end.
For mobile treatments it is largely the same but clients recline in my very comfortable Lafuma chair, and without heated mitts. I always suggest having some comfy socks ready to pop on afterwards so as not to walk wax through your house! It would be best to have a room that can be closed off from the rest of your household to ensure privacy and optimum relaxation, and require this to be on ground level. If you have pets I would request that they are kept in a separate room from the treatment.
Mian Dui covers the décolletage up to the top of the head so I would ask that you remove your top, and any necklaces, with bra straps placed out of the way. If possible arrive with little to no make up and bear in mind that oil will be used on all areas. A blanket will cover you up to your shoulders for the duration of this blissful treatment (at least 50.minutes of the 60 minute appointment).
Some areas might feel sensitive and I encourage you to communicate to me during the treatment if this is the case as I can adjust the pressure. Some are under the impression that the harder the touch the better the results, but as this is not a massage a light touch can be just as effective. As a reflexologist I look at the whole foot and take indicators such as temperature into consideration for a better overall understanding of how to treat.
After a period of regular treatments some clients choose to have a monthly session to maintain the balance that has been achieved. Some however book a treatment when they feel the need; whatever is right for you!
